Le conférence sur le climat qui se tiendra à Paris en décembre 2015 vous semble une réalité lointaine ? Sans grandes conséquences pour votre vie quotidienne ? C'est pourquoi de nombreuses personnes s'activent déjà pour que la COP21 (le petit nom de la conférence de Paris en jargon onusien) mobilise la société civile et soit l'occasion d'un vrai débat.

Et aujourd'hui, je vous invite à rencontrer Didier Saulnier qui a créé le projet Artists 4 Paris Climate 2015.

L'objectif de cette opération originale est double. D'une part, il s'agit de sortir des discours habituels sur le climat et de mobiliser en faisant appel à l'art contemporain, notamment à une trentaine d'artistes mondialement reconnus qui interviendront à Paris et en région parisienne pendant la COP21. D'autres part, Artists4Climate organisera la vente aux enchères d'oeuvres présentées pendant la conférence afin de financer des projets de lutte contre le changement climatique et la désertification dans des pays du Sud. L'art sera donc à la fois un moyen de sensibiliser et d'agir...

Rencontre avec les artisans de la COP21 épisode 4 Mathilde Imer le WARN et la Conference of Youth

Hier, à moins de 250 jours de la conférence sur le climat de Paris, les États devaient remettre leurs propositions de réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre. Mais la lutte contre le changement climatique se réduit-elle à des diplomates additionnant et soustrayant des tonnes de CO2 ? Derrière ces chiffres se cachent des choix de société, des habitudes de consommation, des comportement individuels... C'est pourquoi la COP21 sera aussi un grand rendez-vous pour la société civile : association environnementales, mouvements sociaux, syndicats patronaux, universitaires... vont chacun proposer leur vision de notre avenir et tenter de convaincre.
Chaque mercredi, je vous invite à faire la connaissance d'une des personnes qui s'active pour organiser cette mobilisation de la société civile, pour comprendre ses projets mais aussi sa vision et son engagement. Et aujourd'hui, je vous propose de rencontrer Mathilde Imer qui a fondé le mouvement WARN (pour We Are Ready Now) et qui travaille sur l'organisation de la COY, la conférence des jeunes qui précédera en novembre le sommet de Paris.

L'objectif du WARN va au-delà de la COP21 et des questions climatiques. En fédérant de nombreuses association - depuis Animafac jusqu'aux scouts et guides de France - il veut apporter des solutions concrètes aux problèmes des jeunes générations : emploi, santé, environnement, alimentation...
A l'approche de la COP21, le climat prend cependant une importance particulière et le WARN souhaite porter la voix et les solutions des jeunes lors de ce rendez-vous. C'est notamment lui qui organise la Conference of Youth : depuis une dizaine d'années des représentants des jeunes se réunissent dans les jours précédant les sommets de l'ONU sur le climat. Cette année, la COY11 aura lieu du 26 au 28 novembre à Villepinte, environ 5.000 personnes sont attendues !
